After five days and some nights at sea, we treat ourselves to a day of rest in beautiful Pāvilosta. We first do some laundry and fill up SY Blue Layla’s diesel tank. Delicious food at Ma:la, a hidden “hippie bar” (Google) with sofas and chandeliers in the garden of a family home (see below), usually only visited by Latvians, followed by a jazz jam session at the “Bar zum Crocodil” – could this get any better?
The next morning we leave Pāvilosta and complete the shortest leg of this trip so far: 38 nautical miles to Windau/Ventspils feel like a stone’s throw now.
