U. had wished for calm weather for the first leg – a sail over the open Baltic Sea – with the new crew on board. Indeed, we are spared excessively strong winds and waves on the trip from Latvia to Estonia, but it gets quite wet... At least there are lots of grey and ringed seals on the way, which accompany us curiously. Great!

Last time we chose Roomassaare harbour as we didn’t trust the passage through the many shallows and islets that spice up the approach to Arensburg’s city harbour with a lot of thrills (see above). Then we were able to explore Kuressaare in beautiful summer weather (see here). This time it is raining and the photos of the famous sculpture with the mythical giants Suur Tõll and Piret, as well as of the castle and the town are correspondingly muted (see below). However, the evening sun comes out just in time for dinner in the cockpit, thankfully.
